PoDs Mission:

Our mission is to aid families in Western New York, coping with the daily struggles of raising children and teenagers with Diabetes.

PoDs meetings are informative:

We have professionals such as psychologists, doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and pharmaceutical representatives come to our meetings. They provide wonderful information on the latest research and the newest techniques and technologies available to the Diabetic community.

We hold a monthly meeting or an educational forum at: Maryvale Middle School in the Cafeteria, 1050 Maryvale Drive, Cheektowaga NY 14225.

The meetings are held from September to May for parents, grandparents and school nurses. Meetings will begin at 7:00PM.

We are trying to get babysitting services lined up for each meeting. If we do, we will announce it on the reminder email we send out monthly!

We try to provide family fun events such as the annual picnic, bowling party and other family friendly events so that young people with Diabetes can interact with each other and allow their families to do the same.

We try our best to make all the events affordable, if not completely free.

Our monthly meetings are always free: we charge no dues.

Why we do it:

Through PoDs we create an atmosphere for parents of children newly diagnosed with Diabetes to freely ask questions or voice concerns about the daily care of their children. There are, also, families who still have many concerns about the daily care of their diabetic children who were diagnosed many years ago.  Parents just like yourself who have gone through what you are going through can answer these questions. Together we can offer support that is needed in dealing with the daily job of keeping our children healthy.
